OUR COMPANY

A small team doing one kind of work, carefully

Vessalyn exists to handle the administrative side of family transitions — nothing more. No counselling, no legal assessments, no life coaching. Just documents, logistics, and community facilitation training.

OUR STORY

How Vessalyn came to be

Vessalyn was founded in Kuala Lumpur in 2019 by a small group of administrative professionals who had spent years working alongside family lawyers, welfare committees, and housing associations. What they kept hearing from clients — and from the volunteers those organisations trained — was not a request for more advice. It was a request for help with the practical side of things: the paperwork, the filing, the shared calendar, the question of where a particular document came from and how to get another copy.

That gap — between the professional advice sector and the unassisted household — was the one Vessalyn was built to sit in. The services are deliberately narrow. The Co-Parenting Logistics Toolkit does not touch arrangements or entitlements. The Family Records Consolidation service is clerical: it files, names, and archives; it does not read documents for effect or meaning. The Community Support Circle Programme trains volunteers to hold a conversation and to refer, not to assess or advise.

We work from a small office on Jalan Bukit Bintang. Most of what we do happens in appointments — one household at a time, four sessions at most per engagement, or a three-day training block for a community group. We do not offer online-only services. The work is done in person, and the documents stay with the client.

Our operating principle is straightforward: describe clearly what the service does, say clearly what it does not do, price it in advance, and refer you onward if what you need is something else. We have found that this approach suits the people who contact us. They are usually not looking for a solution — they are looking for a well-organised starting point, and that is what we offer.

HOW WE WORK

Operating standards we hold ourselves to

Scope discipline

Each service has a written scope document. If a session goes outside that scope, we stop, name the boundary, and — where appropriate — point you to a professional who can help.

No document retention

Originals are returned at or before the final appointment of any engagement. We do not retain scans or copies once the archive has been delivered to you.

Personal Data Act compliance

All personal data collected in the course of our services is handled in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. We collect only what is needed for the stated service.

Referral protocol in every service

All three services include a written or verbal referral protocol — a list of question categories that must be passed to a qualified professional. Facilitators trained by Vessalyn receive this as a core module, not an optional extra.

Written engagement terms

Before any service begins, you receive a written summary of what is included, what is not included, the number of sessions, the fee, and the conditions for adding sessions. Nothing is agreed verbally and introduced later.

Voluntary participation

No service requires the participation of any household member who has not consented. In the Co-Parenting Toolkit, materials are only finalised when both parties have reviewed and chosen to use them.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

Working values

The households that contact Vessalyn are generally going through a period of significant change — separation, bereavement, a family member relocating, or a community group recognising that its members need a more structured form of peer support. What they share is a need for clarity on the practical side of their situation, not more conversation about the emotional side.

Our approach reflects this. We write clearly. We describe each service in plain language and in enough detail that a person reading our website can decide, without speaking to us, whether what we offer is relevant to their situation. We price in Ringgit, upfront. We do not introduce additional services during an engagement unless the client asks.

We also hold a clear position on professional boundaries. Administrative support and facilitation are not substitutes for legal advice, family therapy, or registered social work. We name these boundaries openly, and we train our community programme facilitators to hold the same position. When we refer someone to a qualified professional, we name the category of professional, not a specific individual — it is not our place to recommend professionals outside our own field.

Vessalyn is based in Kuala Lumpur and serves clients across the Klang Valley. The Community Support Circle Programme is available to groups in the wider Klang Valley area for their training days. We do not currently offer services outside Malaysia.

Enough background. Let's talk about your situation.
